Behind the Scenes: How Jason Gentrup's The Human Compass Went From Manuscript to Published Book

The starting point

Jason Gentrup came to us with a finished manuscript on meaning, identity, and coherence in a fragmented world. The Human Compass explores what it means to be human inside systems that often leave people feeling disconnected from themselves. What he needed was not another draft, he needed a full-service partner to take an existing manuscript to a professionally published, publicly discoverable book.

From manuscript to published book

Our team handled editing and proofreading, interior formatting, and publishing to Amazon KDP and other major platforms, alongside print production. Getting a manuscript retail-ready involves more steps than most first-time authors expect: a developmental pass for structure, a line edit for voice and clarity, a full proofread, then formatting the interior for both print and digital formats before it ever reaches a retailer.

Building the author presence, not just the book

A published book with no public presence around it is easy for readers to miss. Beyond the manuscript itself, we built Jason's public author presence from the ground up: a dedicated author website, social media setup and management, full audiobook production, and a press release to support launch. Today, The Human Compass is live in paperback, ebook, and audiobook editions on Amazon KDP and major retail platforms, with an author website and social presence that launched alongside the book rather than after it.
