The Memoir of the Crucible

The Challenge

Alongside Caul of Ravens, Christina Schlicht is also writing The Memoir of the Crucible under the same pen name, Elsa C White, a raw, unflinching account of a childhood marked by instability, loss, and a complicated relationship with the mother who shaped her. She needed a cover that could hold that same weight honestly, without softening it.

Our Approach

Our team designed a fully custom front and back cover built around the memoir's central image, a bleeding wax seal reading MOM, pierced by a dart, matching the book's raw, confrontational tone rather than defaulting to a softer, more conventional memoir cover.
